MEET JACKIE

Dear Friends and Neighbors:

I’m excited to share with you that I am a candidate to represent Strafford District 18 (Barrington, Strafford, New Durham and Middleton) in the NH House. I am asking for your support and for your vote on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.

My background provides me with the tools and temperament to represent your interests in Concord. Born and raised as the daughter of a logger/trucker dad and a millworker mom in the gritty mill town of Berlin NH, I learned early on the value of hard work. As the first in my family to attend college, achieving an advanced degree, I appreciate how an education can change the course and texture of one’s life. These values form the foundation of my commitment to the working men and women of New Hampshire as well as the unshakable determination to provide each child with access to the best education possible.

For over 30 years I taught students at the Whittemore School (now Paul College) of Business and Economics at the University of NH, working cooperatively with area businesses on projects to give my students real-world experience.  I saw the importance the business community attaches to having well-educated young workers available as potential employees. They are the foundation of our economy and the incentive for businesses to move to NH or to start here.

As small business owners, my husband, Bruce, and I are intimately familiar with the long days and longer nights that go into starting up and nurturing a young company. With five sons, now grown with families of their own, we have struggled with the same kitchen table issues that affect you and your families.

While serving three terms in the NH House of Representatives and two terms in the NH Senate, I became familiar with the expectations my constituents had of their government. Despite some of the bills we have seen proposed in Concord over the past two years, the typical New Hampshire resident does not want to see government abolished, nor do they want to secede from the Union. What they do want, and what every one of us has a right to expect, is that our government will be responsive, transparent, accountable, and cost-effective. That is one of my highest commitments to you as a NH State Representative.

For my stand on specific issues, please visit my website at jackiecilleyforNH.com, Facebook at Jackie for NH or follow me on Twitter @jackielcilley. If you are looking for a candidate who will fight back against the extremism that has taken over our NH legislature, I am that person. I humbly ask for your vote on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.
